Flanders Field written in 1915
They shall grow not
old,
As we that are left grow old,
Age shall not weary them,
Nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun,
And in the morning
We will remember them.
As we that are left grow old,
Age shall not weary them,
Nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun,
And in the morning
We will remember them.
This extract from the poem The Fallen by The Ode came from 'For the Fallen', a poem by
the English poet and writer Laurence Binyon and was
published in London in The Winnowing Fan: Poems on the Great War in 1914. This verse is used in association with ANZAC commemoration services in Australia and New Zealand
